Our Work

Four pillars of service — education, welfare, social affairs, and Ulama development — delivered gratis to the community.

Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave

The education department of the SJUSA is perhaps our most dynamic and centrical endeavour. Learners instilled with proper Aqaaid and practice-related education become the future torch bearers of Islam and society.

We have formulated our own syllabus utilised by affiliate and non-affiliate Madaaris — from monthly inspections, Muallima training and workshops to annual examinations. Our involvement also encompasses post-reversion upliftment for indigenous communities across South Africa.

Education programmes

Benefactors to the less fortunate

Our beautiful Deen emphasises the need for us to be benefactors to the poverty stricken, elders and less fortunate. We network with various established welfare organisations by investigating the legitimacy and capacitance of the needy and thereafter ensuring the necessary assistance is received.

Guidance, mediation & resolution

There will always exist a need for direction, guidance, advice, mediation, arbitration and conflict resolution — from marital discord and business disputes to inheritance conflicts. Our offices are inundated with these matters daily and are addressed at a professional and competent level. Thousands of Muslims have received Islamically compliant solutions to their personal matters.

Bridging Islamic & secular law

South Africa is a secularised state and thus the laws, legislations and applications may not always be congruent with Islamic laws. The SJUSA is consulted by government and transmits implications to our Ulama. We have successfully facilitated many legally authorised posts for our Ulama, including Marriage Registration Officers.

All of our services are offered completely free of charge.
